I’ve tried a lot of banana bread recipes but I always seem to come back to one that I’ve had in my recipe box for nearly 40 years. This recipe is moist and delicious and always comes out perfect. Plus it’s super easy and quick!
So here is the recipe….Enjoy!
WHAT YOU NEED:
2/3 cups sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons milk
HEAT oven to 350°F.
IN a large bowl combine 1 cup of the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add mashed bananas, shortening or butter, and milk. Beat with a mixer on low speed till blended, then on high speed for 2 minutes. Add eggs and remaining flour, beat until blended.
POUR batter into a greased bread loaf pan (I used the smaller pans and made mini loaves).
BAKE for 55 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes on a wire rack. Remove from pan and cool thoroughly. Makes one 8″ x 4″ loaf.
